Project Log: Here
Modding can be a lonely business with just your Dremel for company on occasions but tout_tribal has enlisted the help of his grandfather with the design and building of the only wooden project nominated this month. All we can say is never pass up advice from the old folk - they've usually been there and done it, several times.
The project actually began in 2006 but after a huge period of inactivity, tout_tribal reappeared with a huge update in October. The case was quick to take shape in 2006 with an interesting tribal design being gradually worked into the wood which plasters the entirety of the external parts of the case. Neat holes have been cut for cooling fans as well as the optical drive.
The exterior panels have received a thick coat of varnish which really makes the luminous green fans stick out. We also get a glimpse of the case which has been well and truly modded.
The tribal designs look great with a mix of glossy curves and flames that have been hand-chiselled out of solid wood. There's just not enough space here to show all the great work that's gone on so make sure you visit tout_tribal's project log for the full version.
Finally we get an idea of just how many parts there are to Tiki and we also get a great shot of the chassis which has received a coat of paint and looks just a little better than it did earlier on.
